The Owyhee Avalanche provides news of the area to over 8,000 homes with its weekly newspaper and also keeps the community informed of breaking news on its website.
The Txoko Ona Basque club celebrates the Basque heritage of the area and its residents. In June 2007, the club dedicated its new community center which offers the community a gathering place and meeting facilities.

The surrounding area boasts a thriving agricultural industry. Row crops grown in the area include potatoes, corn, wheat, alfalfa, sugar beets, and onions. Enjoy just-picked apples, cherries, peaches, and pears at local orchards and fruit stands. Area vineyards produce grapes for the developing Idaho wine industry and visitors can taste the wares at any of the 15 wineries in the area.
